hey all – I bought a non-internet connected ceiling fan that has the ability to be controlled via a remote. It has simple functions like:
- turning the LED light unit on and off
- three fan speeds
- an off button for the fan;
- and a reverse fan function
I would like to somehow intercept the button commands from the remote, map those commands to an internet connected switch which will then act as the controller, and then control the fan via my phone instead. Ideally this switch device would be HomeKit compatible, so I can setup automation or control it with my voice.
Would appreciate some pointers on where to get started!
