NEW PRODUCTS – Fiber Optic Light Sources & Side-light Fiber Optic Tubes

This is a pretty neat way to glow up. Light in the fiber optic cable zooms through the core by constantly bouncing off of the edge of the molded plastic, a principle called “total internal reflection” (which also kinda sounds like a very expensive meditation island retreat). When the light pipe doesn’t have total reflection, you can get a nifty lighting effect from the light illuminating the plastic tubing.

We got ’em in a bunch of fun colors, so why not take a look!

All you need is a way to get a ton of photons into your light pipe, and that’s what this is! It’s Fiber Optic Light Source in a cute pink color. It’s a high powered LED cluster, you need to power it with 9-12V and 100mA of current, the metal body acts as a heat sink. Then, installation is a breeze. Just loosen the clear knob on the LED emitter and slide one of our fiber optic tubes.

Note: This is just the fiber optic LED. You’ll also want to grab a fiber optic tube.

We got these tubes in two diameters! First up the 4mm!

Yay, a plastic tube! No, we jest. This is no ordinary plastic tube, but rather a side-lighting fiber optic tube.

This tube is 4mm diameter, but is nice and flexible plastic and when lit with a powerful LED, has a nice glowing effect. You can cut it down from 1 meter with diagonal cutters.

Note: This is just the tube, and does not include an emitter LED. You’ll also want to grab one of our fiber lights. We’ve got them in red, green, blue, white, and Adafruit pink!
