Taking aim at its opponent ‘AT&T’ for alleged ‘fake 5G’ marketing, Sprint took out a full-page advert in the New York Times earlier this month. Despite being a 4G network, AT&T’s marketing strategy for its ‘5G-E’ network has irked its rivals. According to some critics, the branding is deceptive and some consumers will believe that they have early access to a 5G network. Before filing a lawsuit in February, Sprint conducted a survey where it found that 54% of consumers believed that 5G-E is the same as – or even better than – a 5G network.
