It’s estimated that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) mandate will affect approximately 3.1 million vehicles and 3.4 million drivers, with the deadline for compliance moved to 16th Dec 2019, fleet managers don’t have much time left to adopt Electronic Logging Device (ELD) technology.
The ELD system promises to streamline the logging process, further than that, the changeover is an opportunity for drivers and fleet managers to improve on a number of processes and even add services.
Adopting devices that have cellular connectivity instead of Wi-Fi is not a requirement of the ELD mandate, but the benefits of doing so, far outweighs the cost of initiating and operating with a permanent network connection.
