Quectel Wireless Solutions, announced today that as leader in high-speed wireless module provider and in line with its long-term vision toward 5G and beyond, it has launched EG18, an LTE Category 18 module, which is among the first true high-speed modules that offer 1.2Gbps Downlink /150Mbps Uplink peak rates.
Based on Qualcomm’s SDX20 chipset and fully compliant with 3GPP R12 specification, EG18 supports state-of-the-art wireless technologies such as Carrier Aggregation (CA), 4*4 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology as well as 256QAM.
Quectel EG18 is a series of LTE Advanced modules optimized specially for M2M and IoT applications which support industrial operating temperature range of -40 to 85˚C.
EG18 supports Qualcomm® IZat™ location technology Gen8C Lite (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS). The integrated GNSS greatly simplifies product design, and provides quicker, more accurate and more dependable positioning capability.
Thanks for Quectel’s proven success stories in high speed wireless module industry, and global spectrum availability, EG18 is going to be ideal choice for ultra-high-speed Industrial Router, In-Vehicle Video Surveillance System, Cloud based 4K IP-Camera and many more similar applications, which indeed require very high throughput and preferably low latency.
